Accessibility Statement
Last updated: June 2026Audit results — 19 June 2026
Our Commitment
AEIPI and Accesibilidad Primero are committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology, ability, or context of use. We believe that an accessible website is simply a better website — for everyone.
This site has been built using semantic HTML5, accessible typography (Atkinson Hyperlegible Next), WAI-ARIA where needed, and keyboard-navigable components throughout. All interactive elements meet the WCAG 2.5.5 minimum touch target size of 44×44 pixels. Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements.
Conformance Status
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partial conformance means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the standard. The known issues are documented below, along with the plan to resolve them.
The site is currently under active development. A full conformance review will be carried out upon completion, with this statement updated accordingly.

Third-Party Content
This website integrates content from third-party platforms that are outside our direct control. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of these external services, but we have chosen providers that demonstrate a commitment to inclusive design:
| Platform | Purpose | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Weeztix | Conference registration and ticketing | External No published WCAG conformance statement. Loads via external domain. |
| Oxford Abstracts | Abstract submission and review | External No published WCAG conformance statement. Loads via external domain. |
| Google Maps | Venue location | External Embedded via iframe. A text alternative with the venue address is provided on the same page. |
If you experience difficulties accessing any of these platforms due to accessibility barriers, please contact us and we will do our best to provide the information you need through an alternative means.
Technologies Used
The accessibility of this website relies on the following technologies:
- HTML5 — semantic markup for structure and meaning
- CSS with fluid rem units — never fixed pixel sizes for text
- JavaScript — used for focus management, modal behaviour, and keyboard navigation
- WAI-ARIA — roles, states, and properties for assistive technology support
- Atkinson Hyperlegible Next — a typeface specifically designed for low vision readers
How We Assessed This Site
This statement is based on a self-assessment carried out by Accesibilidad Primero on 19 June 2026, using automated auditing tools and manual review of all custom components. Automated tools were used to identify technical violations; each finding was then verified manually before being included in this statement.
A full independent audit will be carried out once the site is complete, prior to the conference opening for registrations.
