ECI Conference Madrid 2027 will bring together those who work to improve the lives of children with developmental challenges —or at risk of them—, their families and the communities that support them. AEIPI invites your organisation —public, private, social, academic or corporate— to join as a collaborator in a congress that does more than bring people together: it generates knowledge, strengthens networks, promotes good practices and leaves useful resources beyond its three days.
Early Childhood Intervention is at a decisive moment. The scientific progress of recent years calls for spaces that connect research, professional practice, family experience and public policy, while challenges of territorial equity, coordination between systems and real family participation remain. Madrid 2027 is the opportunity to position Spain as a reference in the European dialogue on Early Childhood Intervention, inclusion and child development.

AEIPI and Eurlyaid
AEIPI
The Spanish Association for Early Childhood Intervention (AEIPI) is a non-profit, nationwide organisation, founded in 2017, that promotes quality Early Childhood Intervention based on scientific evidence and centred on children, families and their natural environments. It brings together nearly 2,400 members from 25 countries, representing different professionals and disciplines in early childhood care (early intervention, health, education and social services professionals), researchers and families.
Its mission is to promote the quality of life of children with developmental challenges, and that of their families and caregivers, by generating and sharing knowledge and good practices. Its work is guided by children’s rights, inclusion, family participation and continuous improvement. Its lines of action include organising congresses and exchange spaces, specialised training, the creation and dissemination of knowledge, applied research and cooperation with universities, social organisations and public bodies, in national and international networks.
AEIPI also maintains alliances with leading organisations: SEFIP (Spanish Society of Paediatric Physiotherapy), TOP-ES (Spanish Society of Occupational Therapy in Childhood and Adolescence), ALFASAAC (Association for Augmentative and Alternative Communication), AELFA-IF (Spanish Association of Speech Therapy, Phoniatrics and Audiology and Ibero-American Association of Speech-Language Pathology), Plena Inclusión España, the International University of La Rioja (UNIR), the Families for Educational Inclusion of Castilla-La Mancha Association and the Polytechnic School of the UCLM.
Eurlyaid
Eurlyaid (European Association on Early Childhood Intervention) is the leading European network in Early Childhood Intervention. For more than four decades it has brought together professionals, researchers, universities, public administrations and social organisations from different European countries, committed to developing quality policies and practices for children and families.
The network promotes the international exchange of knowledge, research and experience in early intervention, child development, disability and inclusion, family participation, community intervention and innovation in support services for children. Its biennial congress is one of the main European meeting points in the field; its milestones include the Eurlyaid Manifesto (1991–1993), a European reference document for early intervention; the guide «Recommended Practices in Early Childhood Intervention», available in Spanish; and international research and training projects such as SPES ECI, VET for EI and the AGORA project, for sustainable and inclusive early intervention.
Eurlyaid has also driven European early intervention policy and legislation and strengthened family-centred interdisciplinary work, in cooperation with professionals, researchers and parent associations, promoting the rights and quality of life of children with disabilities and their families.

The programme also includes 6 workshops, 11 symposia and oral communication and poster sessions, to be confirmed after review by the scientific committee, made up of nearly 29 specialists from Spain, Portugal, Ukraine, Serbia and the Czech Republic. Abstract review is double-blind and collaborations do not influence the scientific selection.
Previous editions
- Prague 2023 — «Building Bridges» (organised by Společnost pro ranou péči and Eurlyaid): 550 participants from 23 countries.
- Lisbon 2025 — with ISEI, at ISCTE University Institute: over 600 attendees from 50–60 countries, more than 500 scientific communications and 420 presentations (keynotes, symposia, communications and posters).
Who benefits
Directly, nearly 450 professionals, researchers, teachers, students, social organisations, family organisations and public-policy decision-makers. Indirectly, children with developmental disorders —or at risk of them— and their families, as professionals and services incorporate updated knowledge and resources. The content generated will be integrated into AEIPI’s permanent website, extending its impact beyond the event.

The congress will be held at ICOMEM (Official College of Physicians of Madrid), a 19th-century historic building in the city centre (Calle de Santa Isabel 51). It is a venue with clear advantages: a central location, very well connected by public transport (Antón Martín or Estación del Arte metro, 4–5 minutes away), good airport connection (about 50 minutes by metro) and universal accessibility —step-free access, lifts and adapted toilets—, in line with the congress’s focus on inclusion.
It will be the first time Madrid hosts this leading European gathering on Early Childhood Intervention, a milestone that reflects the international recognition of the work carried out in Spain and projects those advances towards Europe, Latin America and other international contexts.
A key moment
The event also coincides with the recent publication of the State Consensus for the Improvement of Early Childhood Intervention (Ministry of Social Rights and Royal Board on Disability, 2023–2024), which promotes evidence-based models and coordination between systems, in line with the 2030 Agenda and SDGs 3, 4, 10 and 17.
This framework became official with its publication in the Official State Gazette (BOE) through the Resolution of 13 February 2025, reinforcing its role as a reference document for the planning, organisation and evaluation of early intervention systems in Spain. View in the BOE (opens in new tab)

Exhibition space: an area for the organisation to present its activity, projects, products or services in a visible and personalised way, with the option of adding graphic elements, promotional materials and its own resources, as well as engaging directly with attendees.
Information table: a simple-format presence point to offer information, distribute materials and answer queries, without requiring the setup of a full exhibition space.
The congress may offer a limited number of exhibition spaces or information tables, based on the collaboration level chosen by each organisation. Their final availability will depend on the layout of common areas, circulation needs and the organisational criteria of the congress. Allocation will be carried out ensuring coherence with the ethical, scientific and institutional values of AEIPI and EURLYAID.
In addition to financial contributions, in-kind collaborations, logistical support and institutional participation are also contemplated. All will be carried out ensuring the ethical and scientific coherence and rigour of the congress.

Frequently asked questions
Who can collaborate with the congress?
Any organisation whose activity is coherent with the values of the congress: universities and research centres, professional associations, family and disability organisations, service providers, foundations, companies and public bodies working in early childhood, health, education or social services.
What levels of collaboration are available?
There are three levels of financial collaboration: Lead organisation (€5,000), Collaborating organisation (€3,000) and Allied organisation (€1,500). Each one carries a different package of visibility, presence and registrations.
What does each level include?
All levels include logo placement on the official congress website, promotion through the congress communication channels, free registrations and an official collaboration certificate. The Lead level adds priority logo placement in the official programme and the possibility of an exhibition space; the Collaborating level adds a mention in the programme and the possibility of an information table.
Can we collaborate without a financial contribution?
Yes. In addition to financial contributions, the congress considers in-kind collaborations, logistical support and institutional participation. All of them are agreed while safeguarding the ethical and scientific coherence and rigour of the congress.
Can we support a specific area of the congress?
Yes. There are twelve priority areas open to support, among them accessibility, attendee grants, audiovisual equipment and streaming, coffee breaks, the official dinner, travel and accommodation for speakers, and the nursing and children’s room. What is the difference between an exhibition space and an information table?
An exhibition space is an area to present your activity, projects, products or services in a visible and personalised way, with the option of adding graphic elements, promotional materials and your own resources.
An information table is a simple-format presence point to offer information, distribute materials and answer queries, without requiring the setup of a full exhibition space.
Is an exhibition space or information table guaranteed?
No. The congress offers a limited number of exhibition spaces and information tables, subject to availability. Their final allocation depends on the layout of the common areas, circulation needs and the organisational criteria of the congress, always ensuring coherence with the ethical, scientific and institutional values of AEIPI and Eurlyaid.
Do collaborating organisations influence the scientific programme?
No. Abstract review is double-blind and carried out by the international scientific committee. Collaborations have no influence whatsoever on the scientific selection or on the contents of the programme.
Does collaboration include congress registrations?
Yes. The Lead level includes four free registrations, the Collaborating level two, and the Allied level one. They can be used by members of your team or by people your organisation wishes to invite.
Where will our organisation’s logo appear?
On the official congress website, with a mention corresponding to your level of collaboration, and in the congress communication channels, including social media. The Lead and Collaborating levels also appear in the official congress programme.
When should we confirm our collaboration?
As early as possible. Confirming in advance maximises the visibility of your organisation across the whole communication cycle of the congress and secures your place before printed materials and on-site spaces are closed. Write to us and we will confirm the current deadlines.
